Aaron Goldsmith is a radio and television play-by-play broadcaster for the Seattle Mariners. In addition to the Mariners, Aaron calls college basketball, college football, and MLB games for FOX Sports 1, as well as college basketball on Pac-12 Network. He also calls select college football games on radio for Sports USA Media.
Prior to joining the M’s, Aaron was the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox lead radio and television play-by-play broadcaster in 2012. He also co-hosted the weekly PawSox Insider radio show, and was the author of the highly regarded MLB.com blog, 45 Miles From Fenway, during his time in Pawtucket.
Prior to his time in Pawtucket, Goldsmith had spent the past two seasons as the radio and television broadcaster for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers in Frisco, TX. He was also the team’s Director of Media Relations and oversaw the RoughRiders’ Speakers Bureau, speaking to over 50 schools and civic groups each off-season.
Aaron spent the 2009 season as a broadcaster/studio host for the Portland Sea Dogs, the Red Sox Double-A affiliate in the Eastern League. Along with his play-by-play responsibilities, he hosted the Sea Dogs’ 30-minute pre and post-game shows over the team’s seven-station radio network.
His professional broadcast career began in 2007 as the No. 2 broadcaster for the Gateway Grizzlies of the independent Frontier League followed by a summer as the lead broadcaster for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Aaron is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Principia College in Elsah, IL where he majored in History. Following college he attended the Broadcast Center in his hometown of St. Louis where he earned a certificate in Radio Broadcasting and Production..
