Born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Jamie attended the University of Southern California, where she graduated magna cum laude. While at USC, Jamie covered Trojan athletics extensively.
Her work at USC’s prestigious Annenberg TV News station earned Jamie a third place finish in the National Hearst Journalism Awards competition. Jamie also earned an award from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for her sports reporting at WKOW.
Jamie’s love for sports journalism began in high school, when she was selected as a sideline reporter for the Minnesota State High School League’s statewide TV coverage of the state hockey, basketball and football tournaments. At the age of 17, Jamie conducted live interviews with coaches, players and fans, as well as participating in live halftime commentary and interviews at the desk.
