Kevin Fitzgerald is a play-by-play broadcaster for ESPNU and the SEC Network. He’s been calling college basketball for the two networks since 2015. Fitzgerald has also served as the voice of The Citadel’s football broadcasts on ESPN3 for the past two seasons.

The native of Hillsborough, New Jersey, is also in his second season as the play-by-play voice of the Columbia Fireflies, the New York Mets class-A minor league affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. Before that, he spent the 2015 baseball season as a member of the Fort Wayne TinCaps’ (San Diego Padres) radio and television broadcast team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also previously served as the play-by-play voice of University of Vermont women’s basketball during the 2014-15 season.

Fitzgerald graduated from Syracuse University in 2014 with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism. While at Syracuse, he was the Assistant Sports Director at WAER 88.3 FM. While working at the prestigious station, he called Syracuse University football, basketball and lacrosse games. He also hosted a sports talk show on ‘Z89,’ WJPZ 89.1 FM.

In 2014, Fitzgerald won the Jim Nantz Award, given annually to the nation’s most outstanding collegiate sports broadcaster.
