Mike Monaco is a play-by-play broadcaster for Notre Dame and Western Michigan University, calling various college sports including basketball, hockey, and lacrosse, among others. Mike also does some work for the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

Mike has called men’s and women’s basketball games at Notre Dame from 2015-2017 on ESPN3, as well as Fighting Irish hockey games on NBCSports.com, CSN Chicago and CSN Chicago Plus. Since 2015, Mike has also served as the television voice of the Western Michigan men’s and women’s basketball teams on ESPN3. Between the two schools, Mike has called football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, softball, gymnastics, fencing and boxing.

In 2016, Mike served as a radio and TV announcer for the San Diego Padres’ Single-A affiliate, the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He has also called play-by-play for the Chicago Cubs’ Single-A affiliate, the South Bend Cubs, as well as for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

A native of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Mike graduated magna cum laude in 2015 from the University of Notre Dame, where he called football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, among other sports. In 2015, Mike was a finalist for the Jim Nantz Award and honored as one of the top three collegiate sportscasters in America.
